Davao City's Peoples Park

When I found out that my inlaws are visiting Philippines to attend our wedding I was surprised and very excited. I was happy of the thought that they will be visiting my country and I couldn't wait to see them there.

A few days after my inlaws arrival, we finally had the time to bond together. Because of the very short time we had I wasn't able to tour them in Davao tourists spots. Most of the time we went to different malls and I really look like a tourist guide with six blonde people around me. Both of my parent's in law, sister in law and her two kids were there.
The day before the wedding, we decided to go to Davao's famous park, the People's Park. We had a wonderful time touring there. My sister inlaws kids were confused and shy because a lot of people were looking at them but I saw smiles in their face while touring the park especially playing in the children's playground. Our tour was very nice and everyone is game for picture taking with the park's statues.

People's Park is the nicest park in Davao, it is formerly known as PTA Ground. The park was opened last December 2007. The four hectare park was divided into several area like the plaza, fun or kids playground and durian dome. It has wonderful landscapes and man made water falls. The park is surrounded with different kinds of flowers and trees and it has park has a lot of unique looking statues made by Davao's very own artist, painter and sculptor Kublai Millan.

Pearl Farm Beach Resort

Pearl Farm Beach Resort is one of the best resort/hotel in Davao. Whenever hubby visits me in Phil. we always find a way to go there for a day tour. We just love the place coz its beautiful and relaxing. When my inlaws went to Phil to attend our wedding my husband recommend the resort for them to stay. And I'm glad that they like it there.

Pearl Farm Beach Resort is situated in Island Garden of Samal, 40 minutes boat ride from Davao City. The hotel rooms are made of wood and local materials and is designed by a famous architect in the Philippines. On our first visit there, we needed a whole day to explore the area. One of my favorite area is in the hill, where there is a fantastic view of the sea and Malipano Island owned also by Pearl Farm. Their staff are friendly and their buffet lunch is so far the best buffet I've ever encountered. They have two swimming pools and a jacuzzi and of course the white sand beach. For sports enthusiast, Pearl Farm has a tennis court and and a wide array of water sports activities such as jet skiing, water skiing, banana boat ride, scuba diving and a lot more. I'm looking forward to our next visit there, especially, the buffet lunch (grin)...

Davao City, Your Next Destination

Growing up in Davao is one of the things I can say I am proud of. The city is famous for a lot of things. There's the waling-waling known as the queen of Philippine orchid, Philippine - eagle one of the biggest eagle in the world, durian - king of the exotic fruit, and you can find all these in Davao City.

Davao City is located in the southern part of Philippines. It is situated in southeastern Mindanao. Just an hour and a half plane ride from Manila (capital of the Phil.). It offers a lot of urban amenities such as shopping malls, beaches, sea foods, fruits and an active night life. The city's spoken dialect is Cebuano and English is the medium of instruction in schools and is widely understood and spoken.

The city celebrates Kadayawan festival an annual festival that celebrated every second week of August and is one of the most famous festivals in Philippines. People from different places in the Philippines and as well as foreigners travels to Davao just to witness the event. There are lots of activities during the festival. Including the street parade, flower float parade, agro industrial fair. floral exhibit and the left and right midnight sales in shopping malls.

Tourists will not be bored in Davao. As it has lots of white sand beaches, a nature park, crocodile farm, Philippine Eagle Center and a lot more to visit.
