What is plastic surgery?

The word plastic came from the Greek word plastikos that means to mold or to shape and surgery is the branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of injury, deformity, and disease by manual and instrumental means.

Before, people who undergone plastic surgery prefers to keep it a secret coz a lot of people doesn't understand what it really means. Nowadays, a lot of people have tried plastic surgery to make their self younger and more beautiful just like hollywood stars.

It doesn't mean that a person who's undergone a plastic surgery means that person has a lot of plastic in his/her body. There are two fields in plastic surgery, the Reconstructive and the Cosmetic or Aesthetic.

Reconstructive procedures correct defects on the face or body. Ear deformities, dog bites, burns, cleft lips are just some of the examples that reconstructive surgery corrects.

Cosmetic or Aesthetic surgery is concerned in improving one's appearance. It alters the part of the face or the body that one is not satisfied. Examples are removing of fats, reshaping of nose, breast enlargement or reduction and a lot more....

One of the advantage of plastic surgery is the ability to correct physical defects. Often it gives the patient self esteem and feel better about their self. After all, all of us deserves to look best.

If you're considering to under go to this procedures try to research more about it and make sure that you're doing it for the rights reasons. Choose your surgeon wisely and try to ask people who you know that has done it before for recommendations.
